EWE Studio

Incepted in 2017 by gallerist Age Salajõe, designers Manuel Bañó and Héctor Esrawe, Mexico City-based design house EWE Studio is dedicated to researching, experimenting, and honoring the ongoing artistic and craftsmanship legacy of Mexico. Working closely with master-artisans and local ateliers, the team bridges time-honored techniques and materials with innovative technology.

Drawing inspiration from Mexico’s ancestral artistry and cultural heritage, dating as far back as 3,000 years, EWE Studio creates narrative pieces that seek to unearth untold stories and expand upon the depth and breadth of the region’s artistic legacy. The studio’s catalog presents contemporary design objects anchored in heritage through materiality and craftsmanship details. The resulting pieces act as portals between the past and the present, the physical and the mystical.
