Founder, Oyuna Tserendorj will join us in New York to celebrate the opening of the show on October 11 as well as the 15th anniversary of what has become her life-commitment: bridging the finest cashmere quality and weaving traditions of her native country with a contemporary palette of colors and designs. Les Ateliers Courbet is pleased to present the ethos, the work and cultural heritage of the nomadic herders and cashmere weavers. This exhibition will highlight OYUNA’s unique identity as both a purveyor of contemporary cashmere design and a stalwart against the disruption of traditional herding practices. OYUNA understands that time-honored craftsmanship practiced in the modern era must be both adaptive and preservative. Adapting to sustainable production of cashmere is as central to brand’s mission as the preservation of traditional way of life of Mongolian nomads.
