The sought-after yak wool collection of Norlha is made of the finest yak wool hand-woven on the high-plateau of Tibet. In the Tibetan language, "Norlha" means "Wealth of the Gods," and is used by many local nomads in reference to their yaks, which are among the most important resources of the Tibetan Plateau. Referencing this, Norlha is a textile brand that aims to help preserve local tradition and connect it to a greater global market.
Founded by mother and daughter, Kim and Dechen Yeshi, Norlha trains Tibetan nomads to spin yaks' dense undercoats into a soft, highly durable fiber, suitable for use in the brand's collection of luxurious scarves, shawls, and blankets. The workshop has long provided the fines yak wool to the Couture houses of the world.
Norlha fibers and hand-spun the finest yak fur into soft wool yarns. The collection’s color palette is appreciated for the subtle and deep colors obtained by the natural pigments made locally by the craftsmen of the workshop.
