DESCRIPTION

Strobe disks are professional tools used in calibrating turntables and lathes. They are finished with geometric patterns that, when rotated at a certain speed, appear to be standing still. The Lazy Strobe was conceived of by Questlove. Working with craftsmen in his hometown of Philadelphia, Questlove has been able to handcraft these items from black and white Corian.

The Lazy Strobe may be placed on a tabletop and used practically as a lazy susan with the removable magnetic base included, or hung on a wall as a decorative object.  “Mostly,” says the artist, “they are a way of combining my love of music, design, visual art, food, and industrial technology all into one spinning circle.”

The Strobe Lazy Susan is exclusively available at Les Ateliers Courbet, where it rests comfortably among the gallery's selection of beautifully crafted tabletops and objets d’art.
