The flower vase is one of the most recent objects created by Sixth generation Tea Caddy Master Takahiro Kaikado in collaboration with Danish design studio, OeO. Takahiro runs his 140-year old family-owned workshop in Kyoto with utmost integrity and visionary leadership. Thanks to his visionary leadership, Kaikado has gained international exposure and appreciation and the workshop's collections went from the tea caddies series to a comprehensive collection of tabletops including the flower vases.
These may come in brass, copper or tin upon request.
Wide Vase: H 7.1" x Dia. 4.25"
Tall Vase: H 8.7" x Dia. 3.1"
Wipe your Kaikado piece with a soft dry cloth or gently rub with a touch of white vinegar.
You will perceive a subtle change of the color tone of your Kaikado piece in time. Copper starts showing a patina after 2-3 months, brass after 1-2 years and tin after 3-5 years. The Kaikado pieces gain in value and appreciation with age. Old Kaikado Chazutsu are sought after objects of collection.
