DESCRIPTION
Symbolic of cultures confluence bring the past and present together or Kyoto’s fine woodcrafting tradition and contemporary Western design, the Ki Oke stool results from the collaboration between Danish design studio OeO and seventh generation Japanese master-wood crafter Nakagawa Mokkougei. The stool is available in Japanese cypress (sawara) and in a limited edition made of 2000-year-old lignified cedar wood from Kyoto (jindai-sugi). The wood was originally used for buckets used for rice and miso storage as well as bathing rituals, making it uniquely suitable for bath environments.
