LES ATELIERS COURBET at THE SURF CLUB

Les Ateliers Courbet | The Master Craftsmen's Gallery New York 10.jpg

Les Ateliers Courbet opened its Cabinet of Curiosities in the historic landmark of The Surf Club in Miami - recently revived by its new owner, Nadim Ashi of Fort Partners in collaboration with awarded architect, Richard Meier and designer, Joseph Dirand. The New York Master-Craftsmen Gallery brings to Florida a new selection of objects, sought-after books and accessories tailored to local and visiting connoisseurs.

Inspired by the culture, the lifestyle and historical legacy of The Surf Club, Melanie Courbet has scoured the studios of artists and master-craftsmen around the world, selecting pieces from the ateliers of Sèvres, Lobmeyr, Venini, Nymphenburg, Puiforcat, Thierry Dreyfus and Aldo Bakker. Selection also includes rare art and design books, artists’ jewelry by Eleanor Moty, Helfried Kodré, Giorgio Vigna, Gijs Bakker and lifestyle accessories by Sol y Luna, Justin von der Fehr or Oyuna.

Since its opening in 2013 in New York, Les Ateliers Courbet has introduced and exhibited internationally renowned craftsmen and European heritage manufacturers to the US market. The showroom advocates revered or time-honored techniques and the design legacies that each of the artisans carry on.

A destination for interior designers, architects and an international clientele of private patrons, Les Ateliers Courbet’s gallery and adjacent showroom has grown a portfolio of timeless heritage pieces and presents exclusive artists collaborations including designs by Frank Gehry, Vladimir Kagan, Aldo Bakker, Pharrell Williams and Pablo Reinoso among others.
